You Want Design Fast, Good, and Cheap?

You want interior design that's fast, good, and cheap? Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's not happening. You'll have an easier time harnessing a unicorn and riding it through a rainbow into a sunset than getting interior design that is all three of those: fast, good and cheap.

You want interior design that’s fast, good, and cheap? Sorry to burst your bubble, but that’s not happening. You’ll have an easier time harnessing a unicorn and riding it through a rainbow into a sunset than getting interior design that is all three of those: fast, good and cheap.

You can pick two.

I know, I know – we all want all three! But when it comes to interior design, the key to success is to prioritize the two factors that are most important to you. This graphic from Vunela shows why:

You want interior design that's fast, good, and cheap? This Venn diagram explains why that's not exactly possible...

If you have a designer who is fast and good, she ain’t gonna be cheap (and she’s worth every penny!). If you have a designer that’s good and cheap, she is not going to be fast. And here’s my favorite one: if you have a designer who is cheap and fast I can assure you, the outcome will not be good!

The dreamy trifecta of fast, good, and cheap does not exist. If getting your project completed quickly is the most important thing for you, then you’re going to pay a premium for a designer who is a true expert and has learned to be effective and efficient. If budget is your highest priority when it comes to interior design you might work with someone who is both a fantastic designer and really affordable, but the process will be slooooow.

Carefully consider your needs, budget, timeline, and desired outcome, and then choose two for your design project: fast, good, or cheap.
